Transition and Employment Designee (TED) Required Training

Texas Education Code §29.011(b) and 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §89.1075(i) require each TED to complete minimum training, as established by the commissioner of education.

Beginning in fall 2026, the minimum training requirements will be updated to align with amendments to 19 TAC §89.1075. The amendments that were proposed in May 2026 have not been adopted as of September 9, 2026. Until any amendment is officially adopted and becomes effective, local educational agencies (LEAs) should continue to follow the requirements currently in effect.

The TED Required Training course that was previously available has been discontinued. More information will be available on this page to support each TED to meet the training requirements in alignment with the revised rules, when adopted.
