The purpose of this quick self-assessment is to help your team gain a better understanding of your existing data capacity as you prepare to analyze data to understand the problem of significant disproportionality in your LEA.

Federal law and regulations outline that local education agencies (LEAs) who are identified as having significant disproportionality are required to set aside and spend 15% of their Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B funds to address factors contributing to their significant disproportionality. This document gives an explanation and scenarios to aide LEAs in determining how they will spend these funds.
