- Hi, and welcome to Texas SPED Support. With hundreds of resources to choose from, this website is a one-stop shop for special education tools, videos, guidebooks, and professional development to meet all your needs. These valuable resources have been curated explicitly for administrators, educators, and support staff working with students receiving special education services. With so many resources packed into one place, it can feel overwhelming to know where to start.
So let's walk through some of the website's key functions. We'll start with the three pathways you can use to find resources. First, there's the universal search function. This works like any other search engine.
Type a key word in the search bar, and hit search. Second, you can search by topic. By selecting an area of interest, you'll be directed to all the resources available for your selected topic. And third are the resource and learning libraries.
The learning library is designed for those seeking professional development. Within it, you'll find online courses and information regarding conferences and workshops. The resource library is where you'll find high quality guidance documents, tools, templates, and videos on a variety of topics to fit your needs. So that's how you find resources, but let's say you have some specific questions and wanna talk to an expert in your region.
Texas SPED Support has that covered with a comprehensive list of statewide contacts. This function allows you to search by topic, name, or region. You can even generate a list of specific regional contacts by utilizing the view map feature. Simply select your region and hit apply.
So, now that you can access all of these incredible resources, how do you make the most of them? Create an account. You can create an account by clicking on sign in, and choosing create new account. This way, you can have a truly customized experience.
After logging in, you can follow topics to see any relevant updates, or set up your own library by bookmarking resources. When it comes to following topics, you can do it a couple of ways. You can either hit the follow button at the top of the topic page, or go to view all topics where you'll be able to follow or unfollow any number of topics. Of course, with all of these fantastic resources at your fingertips, you'll wanna be able to share them with your friends and colleagues.
Not to worry, Texas SPED Support has you covered there too. For any resource, you can simply click on the share icon and you'll be presented with options to share through social media, send through email, or copy the link. These are just some of the key features we wanted to highlight to make your experience on the Texas SPED Support website a valuable one. So what are you waiting for?

(upbeat music) - Hey, educators. With so much amazing content on the Texas SPED Support website, it can be hard to find what you need when you need it. So we created collections, a handpicked set of resources organized by specific content or educator role. Inside each collection, you'll find videos, tools, and templates, online courses, articles, and more, everything you love about the site.
Collections are accessed through either the Resources or Learning tab in the menu bar. From there, click the button for Collections under Type. Let's have a look at this collection specifically for administrators. It's packed with 13 awesome resources containing basic information about interventions and special education requirements.
If a resource is included in a collection, you can see all of the other resources in that collection, including if it's part of more than one collection, from this drop-down menu on the right. This collection in the Learning Library is based on specific content you may want to learn more about: Texas Dyslexia Academies. It's made of six courses, all available in one spot. Sharing is easy too.
Wanna take a collection of courses together as a school team or maybe just share with colleagues who have a similar role as you? Just copy the link and send away.
