This training of trainers is designed to prepare participants to support effective implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) in elementary reading instruction. Participants will be able to guide learners in deepening their understanding of the core components of the MTSS framework and exploring how high-quality instruction across all tiers can meet the diverse literacy needs of students. The session will focus on the essential practices of universal (Tier 1), targeted (Tier 2), and intensive (Tier 3) reading interventions, emphasizing how these tiers function together to promote student success. Participants will gain practical insights to guide educators in delivering aligned, evidence-based reading instruction that supports improved outcomes for all students.

Who is the TOT intended for? 

This training of trainers is designed for ESC staff and district/campus administrators and staff responsible for training and implementing MTSS.

Prerequisites

In order to register for this training of trainers, participants must already hold a TIER certificate. Designated ESC staff members without a TIER certificate must complete the following Canvas courses on TEA Learn as a prerequisite:

Please enroll in each course and complete by Friday, October 10, 2025. Participants who do not complete Canvas courses will be withdrawn from the training.
