TEACHER: My students are working on revising word choice to be more descriptive. So most students are working with peers or independently completing a worksheet, where they choose a word to better replace a word in a sentence.
However, I have one student who's unable to do this independently. And currently, we're working with the student to make choices. And currently, those choices that we offer during academic time are error lists, which means either choice they make is correct.
So the student is working on the sentence, "The ice cream was so good that we asked for more." And the word they're supposed to replace is underlined in green, and we have two choices, yummy or tasty, that would both add more description to the sentence. So those are programmed into the student's device. And we've added a visual support of an image to support the sentence, so we're creating comprehension and understanding. And the student is able to do this with a paraprofessional in the classroom, or the peers have been trained to program the student's device.
And so the student may be working with the peer.
